Late 70s supermodel Gia was a photographer favourite and graced several covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan as well as fronting campaigns for numerous fashion houses; Dior, Armani, DVF. She unfortunately died of AIDS in 1986 at the age of 26.
She was so beautiful. Cindy Crawford was apparently often referred to as 'baby Gia' due to the resemblance she bore to the tragic model. She was of Irish, Italian and Welsh heritage.
Actress Angelina Jolie won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the model in 1998 biopic 'Gia'.
